Ouh, yeah. I took markers in my hands for first time in my life to make a full-scale picture. It is full of noob mistakes, so feel free to criticise (but only if you actually have something smart to say. )

I was suffering while painting the berzerker models, and i almost promised myself i would never paint one again. And guess what i did as my first marker pic?

As *31883milesperhour said, working from darkest to lightest is best, since it blends shadows and other tones much more better (you also save a lot more ink!). Highlights on the metal are definitely important. But I mean, shit man, this is off the chain for someone who hasn't used markers before. :o What kind of paper did you use? It looks like you used vellum, based on the translucent look of the colors.

this ain't bad for your first time w/ markers dude.. their not an easy medium to use right away.. best way to work them is from darkest to lightest... my best advise could be for you to follow Adam Hughes who is on this site.. he's a pretty famous comic book artist and uses Copics a lot.. might be a good idea to see how he builds up his markers but leaves areas unmarked for specular highlights..

and this guy.. He's in the 40k guild and has a pretty cool marker technique looking into too...

also.. I really like this guys cars and TFs, so he's working in metals and reflections a lot.. check him out too

good luck man.. fun stuff.. peace
